Create a Saint Patrick’s Day Celebration…

…as a reward for your employees or your clients.  Saint Patrick’s day is the first major holiday of the spring season and instantly lends itself to a fun theme party that everyone can enjoy.

For an off site location, try an Irish pub or bar in your local area.  If  you want to do it on site, check out a party supply store for green streamers, stickers, posters and green beads to make your location festive.  Green beer is a must and you can serve it up in a neon green beer stein decorated with your logo for each guest to take home.    Set the jolly mood when your guests arrive by giving them a shamrock stovepipe hat and a blinking shamrock button.

Entertainment is key.  Hire a live band or play some Celtic music (such as Riverdance) in the background.  Hand out name tags or tee shirts with markers and have everybody add an O’ to their name (i.e. Shannon O’Pedder).  Everybody becomes instantly Irish.  Have a design contest on one side of the tee shirt and whoever comes up with the best Irish themed design wins a grand prize.  Set up a trivia game for everyone to interact with each other.  Dedicate a few members of your staff to walk around and ask Irish- related trivia questions and give out prizes like stickers, a stuffed leprechaun, gold coins or a plastic shot glass.

For food, serve corned beef and cabbage or have a baked potato bar.  For dessert have your local bakery create cupcakes with green frosting and shamrock sprinkles.  Green plates and napkins will make it complete.

Don’t forget the appreciation gift.  You can give them the beer mug or pint glass the beginning of the party which they can fill up with green beer during the party and then take home as a souvenir.  As another idea, give them a shamrock squeezie that says, “we’re lucky to have you”.  Employees and clients loved to feel recognized and appreciated in tangible ways and some of the offbeat holidays like Saint Patrick’s Day provide the perfect time for you to make an impact and an impression when they are least expecting it.
